The forces of life

Blogging absence is attributed to the crazy amount of work at uni and I guess, just life in general. Two outfit posts to make up for the past couple of months. =)
How are you all?
I'm liking the feel of Spring and anticipating Summer. Isn't it insane how quickly the year has zoomed by?

I'm heading to Melbourne at the end of the year - late Nov, early Dec - to check out the shopping scene! Would love to know where to go shopping and nice thrift stores and markets and fabulous food places! =D

Why, Hello there

Follow my blog with bloglovin´
Hey guys I've finally jumped onto the Bloglovin' trend so FOLLOW ME =D=D

So glad exams are finally over. I'm so drained from all of it but isn't it funny how you always feel the least tired the day after exams and you kind of feel invincible? That's me, right now. At 8.44am in the morning. I got up so early because I was so excited about being on holidays, kind of like a kid on Christmas day really.

I've got quite a few outfit posts lined up, ones that I took way before exams but never had a chance to post. But I've got a very exciting holiday planned! I can't wait to see all my friends back in Auckland! And I'm going skiing next week so that should be interesting seeing as I've never skiid in my life before..hmmm. A lot of bruises and sore asses? =D

And has anyone been to Thailand before? I'm going in August for 10 days with the Management Consulting Club at Uni! I'm SOOOOOO exciteddddddd!!!! =D=D Any suggestions on where I should shop/eat/see??

Woosh

I'm such a terrible blogger! Life's kind of taken it's toll this past week and I haven't been that busy, but I feel like I'm always doing something, if that makes any sense?
Exciting news, I booked some tickets down to Wellington for November - only $10 return! Insane! It's still a while away though...

These days I feel really uninspired. I'm not sure if it's because that I haven't been shopping for awhile or if it's the weather or whatever else. But I just feel like I'll spend ages getting dressed in the mornings because I don't really know what I want to wear. Maybe it's because I haven't bought new shoes in a while... Hmmm

I wore this sometime last week but just haven't had the time to post. Blogging really takes it outta ya LOL.
I smiled in that one photo because I always look so grim! =D

Can't explain

I wore this the other day. I've been searching for these boots for ages and I found them at the little boy's section at Kmart. I'm planning to scuff them a bit so they don't look so clean! I'm pretty in love with these. I planned to stud them originally but I quite like them as they are.

Wearing: Mesh speckled shirt, Trademe. Vintage lace crop singlet, Savemart. Vintage leather moto vest, Trademe. Studded belt worn as a cuff, Markets. Bodycon mini, from when I was 10. =)

It's pouring down with rain today. There's an icy chill in the air and it's starting to remind me of winter. I think I'm more of a summer person. I love how in summer, you can sit on the deck and just bask in the sun sipping icy cold drinks and feel like you're on the top of the world. It's so hot outside that when you're at the beach, you just want to run into the water to cool down. I love the feeling of sand between my toes and ice cream cooling my mouth.

But then in winter, I love the smell of a soup cooking. My favourite is potato and leek. I love how you can pile on layers and layers and wear boots and coats and beanies and scarves and hide under the weight of everything if you don't want to be seen. But it gets pretty rainy here in Auckland in Winter, so it's a bit of a bummer.

This week has been pretty topsy-turvy for me, kind of lilke a total rollercoaster of emotions. But I have to say that I've had so much fun in between the ups and downs. I guess this photo, I found on Leflassh, explains how really feeling. Ironic huh?

Have a lovely weekend! x

Hello again!

Sometimes, something big in your life happens. I mean, life-changing-ly big. And that's when you realise how important your friends are, and how much you really should appreciate them.

I had this whole slightly emotional post drafted out but I decided it was a bit too overwhelming to post.

The moral of this post is really about how important and incredibly amazing friends are.
In the past week or so, Zoe put up with my raging and ramble, I received a good old fashioned handwritten letter from Anabel, a really sweet email from Hoa, Lucy took me to Western Springs so I could take photos with the Canon and took me underwear shopping for retail therapy, my mum paid for that retail therapy, Pei's been there for me despite her hectic schedule, Hayden and Lily have made me laugh so much, Sam and Fiona and Lucy put up with me in my terrible drunken state, Corinna and Hanna and Richard were so good to talk to. And the list goes on but I really don't want to bore you guys. I love these guys so much <3

Instead of focussing on who I've lost, I've tried to take my mind off that and embrace the people that are still here. After learning the hard way on Thursday, I realized that I'm going to have to do this like everyone else and it's going to take some time. I can't fast forward past this stage because I'd be just lying to myself. But despite all this, I'm so glad I can be my carefree self again and feel like everything's back to normal.

This was such a perfect time to self-reflect and take a wholesome look at my life. I don't know what I'd do without my friends and family, I'd be lost without them. They define me and without them, I'd be no one and nothing. Thanks guys <3

Mmm cake...

Mmm Lucy and I went to Fraser's for cake last week one night. We shared a Choc mousse cake and a carrot cake! It was delish but we felt absolutely fat-icious afterwards! All for a good cause I say... ;)
I found these retro looking mailboxes but none of the photos I took were that great.

I feel soo free after my week of tests! We went out to this bar called Cassette last night and it was kind of "indie" so everyone there was so well dressed! It was like shoe porn. I fell in love with this girl's lace up wedge booties...

I've got an unhealthy obsession with wedge booties right now and I've been looking everywhere for them but no luck yet... Any ideas on where I should be looking? =D

X

I'm having a terrible week as I imagined I would and I'm not sure how I have time to blog?
I've been wearing a week of black, I call it "death week" LOL.

I made this studded tee awhile ago by cutting the collar off a oversized men's tshirt and rolling the sleeves up. Am I the only one who thinks studding things is a bitch?...that you can't resist =P

Comments shall be attended to after Friday (my last test yuss!)

Big big shoulders

I'm resorting to comfort food to prepare me for next week. It's a rather daunting week- I have 223149723478 tests and assignments. That's a bit of an exaggeration, but I do have 3 tests and 2 assignments which I have to conquer (or fail).
I'm in stress mode. Which basically for me, means a lot of snacking and very little focus.
I secretly hope I get sick and don't have to sit the tests. Ahh what a good little plan!
Any ideas on ways to destress? ...other than constantly snacking that is...

Will reply comments soon too! =D

I'll leave you with what I wore the other day and a few inspirational structured shoulders <3

I love the versatility of a plain large square piece of black jersey fabric. It will be my staple for winter =)

Yawn

It's 1.43am and I'm still here, blogging. LOL. I'm not sure if it's that I can't sleep or I can't be bothered to sleep?

Does counting sheep really work? I've tried that before and it keeps me more awake... =|
